| Kelly Services C.I.S. on behalf of its client, a major western Hi-Tech Company, with a strong presence in Russia is searching for Data Warehousing Consultant.
Summary Description:
This position is a staff level data warehouse technical consultant within the Professional Services organization. This is a client-facing, project oriented position having accountability for managing client expectations while delivering the services and solutions. The Consultant provides in-depth technical needs analysis and advises solution teams on database configuration and utilization issues during the client engagement. Responsible for designing database query specifications, as well as database implementation, performance tuning administration and security, are often included.
Education and Experience Requirements:
• Bachelors Degree (or higher) preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics or other related fields
• Strong technical knowledge in computer technology
• Knowledge and experience with relational database technology, UNIX, Linux, Windows, MS Word/Excel, Java/C/C++ development, or end business intelligence tools would be a plus
Key Areas of Responsibility:
• This individual will be responsible for solution design, integration, data sourcing and transformation, database design and development (logical / physical) and tool implementation related to data warehousing in the retail industry (responsibility level will be commensurate with the position level and will begin in a learning mode).
• Interface with engineering staff as needed to resolve complex technical issues
• Specify, demonstrate and scope solutions that deliver business value to the client / prospect.
• Transfer knowledge and expertise to other professional services associates.
• Provide technical expertise to data warehouse clients that will contribute to innovative business solutions.
Work Environment:
• Usually assigned to a customer facing team working directly at a customers site where results will be based on cooperation with and/or influence of others.
• Focuses on results and success, conveying a sense of urgency and driving issues to closure
• Meets deadlines and produce high quality work
• Optimizes use of available resources
• Relates to people in an open, friendly, accepting manner
• Shows sincere interest in others and their concerns
• Initiates and develops relationships with others
• Extensive travel based on project assignment.
• Expectations are that most work is at customer sites with on-site time typically 4 days per week on average.
